About the Lodge
High-Volume Shooting
El Monte specializes in superb high-volume shooting for doves and the unique experience of pigeon hunts over decoys. El Monte is recognized as offering the finest pigeon shooting in Argentina.
Owned and operated by Juan and Maria Alberdi, we have been sending groups to their operation since 2003 and it has always been a pleasure to work with them. Our groups enjoy the shooting as much as the family-operated operation that emphasizes personal service from a dedicated staff. The spectacular shooting for doves and pigeons in the north of San Luis Province offers a balance of nature, farming and scenery.
The Lodge
El Monte Lodge is located in Yacanto, a charming village between the hills of Córdoba and the valley of San Luis Province. Built by engineers of the early British Railroad in 1900, and beautifully renovated, this old Victorian home offers a warm ambiance with views of old growth gardens and stately sycamore trees. It’s an elegant, comfortable, and welcoming lodge for your adventure in Argentina.
Guests will enjoy wonderful views of the majestic gardens and relaxing on the sun porch with a cocktail after a great day of shooting. The property features a relaxed and tastefully decorated English country home with six bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and furnished with either twin beds or King sized beds as required.

“El Monte is recognized as offering the finest pigeon shooting in Argentina along with spectacular high volume dove shooting.”
El Monte’s hunting area encompasses tens of thousands of acres on approximately 20 private ranches, a region that offers superb high volume dove shooting and the finest pigeon over decoys in Argentina.
Much of the region utilizes pivot irrigation, ideal for pigeon, and is surrounded by thousands of acres of low forest which provide roosting and resting areas for millions of pigeon and dove.
A hunting day typically starts with a high-volume dove in the morning followed by a delicious asado (BBQ) lunch at midday then perhaps a siesta under some shady trees. In the afternoon the hunt will continue with a pigeon shoot or an incredible shoot for high volume dove. Each stay is customized to the requests of your group together with the most recent scouting reports.
Each day of shooting at El Monte is a unique experience, one you won’t soon forget. High hills, valleys, woods and low, virgin forest are surrounded by peanut, wheat, sorghum, and corn fields, while numerous irrigation pivots and feed lots dot the shooting area. With so much food, cover and private access to numerous ranches, spectacular shoots are assured.
Season
The hunting season at El Monte runs from March to September. Pigeon season runs from mid-April through early July.
