Over 20 years ago, Tipiliuke was discovered as one of the world’s premier fly fishing operations with its spectacular private water on the Chimehuin River in Patagonia. Since then, it has become synonymous with first class service, attention to the smallest detail, and luxury in a breathtaking setting.
The Lodge
Located only 30 minutes from the Chapelco Airport near the small city of San Martín, Tipiliuke is a sprawling 50,000 acre working cattle ranch. Tipiliuke offers just 9 rooms allowing for the staff to provide very personalized service with exceptional attention to detail.
Guests can enjoy our large wood burning sauna, massage room, yoga room and hot tub to enhance their relaxing stay. Finely appointed rooms and refined authentic cuisine round out the Tipiliuke experience.

Tipiliuke
Fly fishing is what put Tipiliuke on the map more than 20 years ago. Considered by many to be one of the worlds’ top fly fishing destinations, Tipiliuke, located in the Northern Patagonia fly fishing region, is home to more than 17 miles of the finest trout water on the planet, most notably its nine 9 miles on the famed Chimehuín river.
The Chimehuín was probably the first Patagonian river to become world famous and Joe Brooks played a key part in this. He started fishing and writing about the wonders of the Browns and Rainbows of the Chimehuín back in the 50’s and 60’s.
Historically, it is the Chimehuín River that gave fly fishing in Patagonia its fame. Stories of great monster Browns and Rainbows were heard on a regular basis. The Chimehuín became a legend. This is a magical river where monsters dwell – you never know when it’s your turn to catch one. Today the Chimehuín offers superb dry and wet fly fishing. It is challenging yet very rewarding. Big browns are regularly caught as well as big surface feeding Rainbows.
Season
The fly fishing season at Estancia Tipiliuke is November 15th through April 31st.
Location
Tipiliuke Lodge is located in the province of Neuquén in Northern Patagonia. The lodge is conveniently located only 30 minutes from the Chapelco Airport.
